Most of your impact here comes from diagnosis and architectural thinking — expect to spend the majority of your time understanding the system, investigating issues, and evaluating options before writing a single line of code. We trust you from day one: no sandbox, real production tasks from the start. The codebase is clean, documentation is still growing — and adding to it will be part of your contribution.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve data issues across the DWH; research solution options within the existing architecture before implementing changes.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and DWH models using Data Vault methodology.
- Implement and maintain ELT processes; design data layers within Snowflake using dbt.
- Enforce data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Document findings, decisions, and architecture changes as part of ongoing onboarding and knowledge-building.
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Customer Success Analytics teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with Data Vault architecture — must have.
- Excellent SQL and Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool).
- Experience with OLAP data warehouses, specifically Snowflake.
- Strong understanding of data structures and storage formats.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent).
- Experience with distributed messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka or similar).
- Experience with AWS cloud platforms and services.
- Strong investigative mindset — comfortable working with ambiguity and limited documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AI tools - not just to tick a box, but to genuinely work faster and better.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience with ClickHouse.
- Experience working in a small team where self-direction and knowledge-sharing are expected.
